Logo Mata Kelik

New Design by Alexander Mering

Original design 2012 by Alexander Mering

The Mata Kelik logo, designed by Alexander Mering in 2012 for the Mata Kelik community in West Kalimantan, is a visual philosophy. At its heart lies the ikan keli, a symbol of resilience, survival, and connection to the rivers of Borneo. Encircled in a tawaf-like motion, the design embodies prayer, continuity, and cosmic rhythm. Its black-and-white balance reflects depth and illumination, while the circular form suggests eternal cycles of life and tradition. Seen as an eye, it becomes both guardian and vision—affirming that Dayak culture is not a relic, but a living force.
